Camera magic in a snap!

I thought I was pretty much up on technology, but somehow I missed the newsflash about this camera!

Panasonic Lumix DMC-FP7: New Digital Camera Whitens Teeth, Erases Wrinkles and Applies Makeup

According to an article I read on AOL this morning, we can now take a picture and then play with features on the camera to change our appearance.  I wonder if you can also take off that dreaded ten pounds that the camera supposedly adds!

This seems beyond ridiculous to me!  I love my made up look and very seldom leave the house without makeup. But, please, who do you think you are fooling by changing your pictures?  Perhaps if you put it up on FACEBOOK with a fake profile you could get away with it. But, in the real world, our friends know we don't have perfectly white teeth or a perfect sun kissed face!  They love us for who we are, imperfections and all!

So, I say, "Smile", "say cheese" and get on with more important things in your life. Superficial camera features are not going to enhance your life!

Sincerely,

your wrinkly, yellow-toothed friend

DNA or a Mother Goose Poem. What tells the better truth?

Lately I've become fascinated by DNA and what it can tell you. After my mother died, I made connections to family members I never knew about. The best connection has been a second cousin to my mother, and a second cousin, once removed to me.  He has filled in a lot of blanks regarding my mom's family lineage, and also purchased a DNA kit from 23andme for me to take.  It has proven we are related, as well as given me health information.

I now know that Diabetes 2 is at the top of my list for things to watch out for.

So, DNA can show family ties and health risks. It can also show how I will respond to medicines and what likelihood I will have toward interesting traits like "can you smell Asparagus in your urine?" Yes, I can.

But, today a Mother Goose Nursery Rhyme kept popping into my head. And, I think this might be just as accurate as my DNA result. I was born on a Wednesday.
Mondays child poem

Mondays child is fair of face,
Tuesdays child is full of grace,
Wednesdays child is full of woe,
Thursdays child has far to go,
Fridays child is loving and giving,
Saturdays child works hard for his living,
And the child that is born on the Sabbath day
Is bonny and blithe, and good and gay.

So, I don't get to be good and gay. I don't get to  be loving and giving. I get to be full of  Woe!  A DNA predetermination or a wise old Mother Goose Poet prophecy come true?

Who knows!

Woe is me!
